We did it!!, we finally completed our game within 5 weeks. Each member in the group played a magnificent role in creating the game i felt as though i could have done a little more coding for the game but due to a lack of confidence in my programming skills i didn't do alot of coding than i wanted to do but if we had to design the game again i would have done alot more of coding, but my team mate did an excellent job on the programming side of the game which plays an essential part in the game itself. The animations for the game is fantastic and was in- sync and plays at the right time for example when a mould goes under the correct machine the ingredient is placed at the right time the background design is basic but at same time effective which helps to give the player the feeling of acctually being in a chocolate factory.
There are one or two things we didn't add into our game which was mentioned in the design document which was the feature of having the conveyer belts speeding up and slowing down due to the fact that i will make the game even more harder to play so we subsidized this by adding more chocolate moulds respwaning at various stages in the game.
Overall i really enjoyed working with our group and would love to work in creating another game with them again.

feedback from my game
on the 18th of may our game was tested by various people from my course and one person from outside of my course who had little knowledge about game designing. overall our game was liked by everyone but a few people thought the game was too quick when the ingredients are placed in the moulds, one idea to overcome this was to make the move the ingredients further down the conveyer belt to allow the player to think about making the next move before an ingredient is placed on the mould. Another problem was that one of the symbols designed for the game was hard to understand so we need to change this symbol again as well as the machines (splurgers) which did not appeal to the players, so i designed another machine for all the ingredients.
overall i slighty agree with some of the statements made by my peers but the comments about the symbols i desagree with because i found the symbol easy to identify and not confusing at all but this could be because i am a playing part in designing the game, so i have to respect their comments and take them on board.

we just need to get the animation sorted out then bob's you're uncle!!
me and my team mates have nearly accomplished all the codings for our game and are so close to creating a successful game, but we need to get the animations into the game. on the 17th of may i have successfully placed all the sprites animation in symbols and embedded frames in their allocated symbols. overall i found this straight forward but draining due to its longevity, one of my team mates has imported one of my chocolate sprite animation into the game and looks really good.
now all i need to do is to adjust the appearances of the "splurgers" (the machines which shoots out the ingredients) and then we have completed all the elements we need in the game.

i have created sprulgers?!!
I have created and animated some splurgers which shoots out different ingredients from each splurger. The design overall looks impressive and appealing to by peers but i feel as though i should get a second opinion from someone outside of my group members and from people who are not on my course.
here is another video clip of all the animation i have created for each splurgers below:

SPRITES!!
I have started the development of the sprites for the chocolate factory game. the theme i went for when creating the sprites were a colourful and at the same time childish feel to the design so in order to achieve this i simply choose a mixture of colours for the cake ingredients and each mould coloured differently from one another e.g. one mould would have the colour red and another would have the colour green.
here is an animation of all the chocolates I have created:
i am pleased with the outcome of the design but i feel it could be further improved by adding more splashes when ingredients like caramel or chocolate is being added to the mould.

chocolate factory coming soon!
i have formed up with a new group and we are creating a new game with the theme of a chocolate factory (to advertise a brand as a viral marketing game). The new group consists of four people including myself, the group as a whole looks like a very strong team with people with useful skills in various fields (program + designing, comfortable with designing, designing concepts and programing, allrounder).
in the first week the group has accomplished a completed design document and storyboards and also created a paper prototype of the game we are planning to design add it turned well, i think the reason why it turned out well is because the design of the paper prototype itself is pretty good in terms of looks and how to play the prototype itself is ok and works well.
